GEORGE DOWNING

I’m proud to announce that Archway table tennis club have signed George Downing to play for the Archway “A” British league team. As well as playing an integral part of our forthcoming British League campaign, George will also contribute towards the development of the Archway Academy players and development squad. Today I caught up with George and this is what he told me.

“I love how everyone is so keen to improve and I feel like this is a great, fresh new project with enormous potential. Once I spoke to Julian, I knew that I wanted to be part of this fantastic club as I totally bought into the ethos and the short term and long term aims. My own vision and ambition is to give everyone an opportunity to improve and I look forward to playing a part in their development”

George is a former England junior number 2, second only to Sam Walker. He has represented England on multiple occasions that include 2 European Youth Championships and has also travelled around Europe competing against some of Europe’s best players. George has experienced competing in some of the top table tennis leagues in the world such as the Belgian Super League, “Pingisligan” which is the first league in Sweden as well as National 1 in France. George is a great addition to Archway Table Tennis Club and brings a wealth of knowledge about modern techniques and development structures in table tennis elite clubs and countries.

Welcome to Archway Table Tennis Club George
